‘World-class’ light show coming to Glasgow this Halloween

Getting tired of the same old ‘trick or treat’ routine with the kids every Halloween? Fancy doing something a little more imaginative this year? GlasGLOW might just have the answer your looking for.

A spectacular £500,000 light show is coming to Glasgow Botanic Gardens this Halloween. GlasGLOW, which is being brought to you by the people behind itison Drive in Movies, is being described as ‘Stranger Things meets Game of Thrones in a beautiful Glasgow Garden.’

Glasgow businessman and CEO of itison, Oli Norman, is launching the project to, as he describes it: “put Glasgow on the map as the home of Halloween”. Running from October 27 to November 4 – just in time for the dark nights drawing in – the event promises a “Spielberg-esque twist with a nod to 80’s nostalgia”.

Mr Norman said: “I’ve had the idea for GlasGLOW for over a decade and it’s now time to bring it to life. We’ve assembled a world class lighting and technical team to bring a vision to life that will mesmerise adults and kids alike. It’s going to be pretty fantastical.

“As a dad to two young kids, it’s become even more important to me to have brilliant things happening in our city, and we’re lucky that as a business we’re now in a position to take our idea and turn it into a reality”.

Thousands are expected to attend the event which promises to be more than just a sound and light show, featuring “spellbinding installations that will surprise and delight” as the story is brought to life.

Organisers expect GlasGLOW to sell out fast and tickets will be available exclusively at itison.com – released later this month. As a Halloween night goes, it’s sure to beat trudging round the neighbourhood asking for treats again.
