What to do this weekend in Glasgow

As the weather gets colder and the nights draw in finding the motivation to go out and about can be difficult. We’ve rounded up this weekend’s best family-friendly events in Glasgow to have you rushing out the door. 

Coca Cola truck 

Where: Silverburn shopping centre

When: 9-10 November, 11am-7pm

The arrival of the Coca-Cola Christmas truck marks the official beginning of the festive season. Don’t forget to hashtag your photos with #HolidaysAreComing.

Lightning McQueen at the Riverside Museum

When: 3-25 November

This fan-built replica of racing sensation Lightning McQueen is a must see for fans of the Cars movies. Entry to the museum is free and visitors are welcome to pose alongside the legend.

Christmas Markets

Where: St Enoch Square, George Square

When: 9 November – 31 December

Glasgow’s Christmas markets open today bringing the city festive food, drink and crafts from all around the world. Make sure to keep hold of little hands if you visit, the markets get extremely busy at the weekend.

Kelvin Hall family day

Where: Kelvin Hall

When: 10 November, 12-4pm

To celebrate their second birthday, Kelvin Hall is holding a family fun day full of workshops and activities for all the family. The theme of the day will be Circus and Carnival.

The Forge Shopping Centre Christmas light switch on

Where: The Forge

When: 11 November

Get your Christmas lights fix before the city is fully lit up at The Forge. The perfect excuse to fit some Christmas shopping in.
