It’s almost Mother’s Day, and this weekend, people all around the UK will be celebrating the woman who gave them life and everything she has done for them. As a child, Mother’s Day is about making breakfast in bed and giving presents which an adult bought, and probably wrapped, for you. So on this increasingly commercialised […]
Mother’s Day is on the horizon – a full 24 hours dedicated to celebrating the ladies who brought us into the world. Let’s face it – women don’t come more wonderful than our mums. Whether you’re after a bit of gift inspiration for your own mama, or you’d like a handy list to shove under […]
CBeebies’ Bedtime Stories became much more interesting for millions of mums (and some dads) UK-wide after Tom Hardy agreed to feature on its New Year’s Eve special last year – and followed up with another on Valentine’s Day.
Now, after sending the Twittersphere into meltdown the first two times, Hardy is back announcing that he will be soothing your little ones off to sleep with yet another bedtime story on Mother’s Day.
So don’t despair, mums. Even if your kids forget it’s Mother’s Day on 26 March, Tom has lined up a special treat for you anyway.
In honour of Tom’s return, here are eight British celebrities you didn’t realise had read your kids a bedtime story:
1. James McAvoy
The Scottish X-Men star appeared on the programme in 2015 to read not one, but five bedtime stories including Superworm and The Dinosaur that Pooped a Planet.
2. Sir Patrick Stewart
The A-lister, who plays the older version of McAvoy’s X-Men character, read the 2010 Christmas Day and Boxing Day stories as well as recording three more episodes for 2011.
3. Warwick Davis
The Harry Potter actor read four stories like Thump Quack Moo all the way back in 2009, and his episodes are still being repeated.
4. David Tennant
The first Scottish Doctor Who took his opportunity to feature on the Cbeebies favourite in 2009 for five episodes – including the Christmas Eve special where he read The Christmas Bear.
