Family favourites Funbox’s new seasonal singalong spectacular Christmas In Toy Town has been delighting audiences across Scotland since it started in November and is coming to a theatre near you, including Musselburgh, Hamilton, Galashiels, Stirling, Perth and Dunfermline right through to Hogmanay.
So get ‘dolled’ up and put your ‘skates’ on because we’re heading to Toy Town with Anya, Kevin, Gary and Bonzo the Dog (formerly of The Singing Kettle).

CHRISTMAS IN TOY TOWN
There’s trouble in Toy Town because someone is up to ‘snow’ good. The mischievous Gnorbert the Gnome is about — creating mayhem and pinching everyone’s favourite things.
Santa has asked the gang to look after his most precious toy, so it’s up to them to make sure Gnorbert doesn’t get his hands on it. Plus there are keys to discover, games to play and songs to sing, so they’ll definitely need your help, too.
With smashing singalongs such as ‘Bunny Fou Fou’ and ‘The Grand Old Duke Of York’, festive favourites like ‘Jingle Bells’ and brand new songs, Christmas in Toy Town is perfect holly-jolly silliness for everyone and the ideal family treat.

“We have been having a ball with this show,” says Anya. “And folks have been saying it’s our best and funniest show yet. It’s such a magical time of year, we just love seeing all the families enjoying themselves.”
“Children are the best audience to play for,” continues Kevin. “They love to dress up and join in without prompting. We are very aware that a Funbox show may well be a young person’s first live music or theatre event. In an age of instant entertainment on phones and tablets, a live interactive experience is more important than ever.”
NEW SONGS
With a mix of new songs as well as traditional playground or street songs Funbox take their musical responsibilities very seriously.

Funbox’s own music man Gary explains: “Music has a special connection for children, and a lot of work goes in to the music in our shows. We want kids to join in and we strive to make the songs and rhymes in our shows as accessible as possible, so even a brand new song will have an easy hook for the audiences. They need to be catchy and simple to sing along with.”
MORE FUN
The fun doesn’t stop at Hogmanay though as the gang will be heading to Livingston and Aberdeen for their first shows of 2020 with Trouble in Toy Town in early January.

They’ve also just released details of their brand new tour for 2020 – Jungle Party which kicks off with two very special performances at The SEC in Glasgow on March 1st. “We are filming both shows for our next DVD,” says Anya. “So the star of the show could be you!”
