Get excited, because 15 October – 21 October is Edinburgh Cocktail Week!
Over 80 bars across the capital are taking part in the cocktail festival, including The Printing Press, Tigerlily, Harvey Nichols and Sky Bar.
Each bar will create a unique signature cocktail, made with all your favourite, fancy ingredients, which can be enjoyed for just £4 with an event wristband.
Wristbands start at £5 for a weekday pass, or £8 for a weekend pass. You can also purchase a week-long pass for £13.50, giving you access to all the highlights throughout the week, and cocktails starting from £4 at every venue.
This year, brand new features have been introduced, including a Cocktail Village marquee at Festival Square in the city centre. The marquee will be the social centre of the festival: all cocktails in the tent are £4 with a wristband (yay!), and live music and DJ sets promise to keep the party alive.
Inside the marquee it has been designed to look like you’re enjoying a drink in an autumnal festival garden, with trees, a clear ceiling, living walls and festival mood lighting.
Throughout the week, a range of events and parties will be taking place across the city.
Opening with the Absolut Pornstar Martini Party at 4042, the week kicks off with free entry and low prices for the classic cocktail. You can become a bartender for the day and create your trusty favourite drink your own way or try your hand at something brand new at the Secret Spirits Study pop-up masterclass.
The classes will take place at 6pm daily in the basement of 15 Queen Street. Not to be missed is the Mixed Drinks Through the Ages class, which explores the past, present and future of cocktails through sampling and cocktail-making.
There will also be a unique escape room at Nightcap on York Place on 16 October. Like no other escape room you’ve done before, guide yourself and your party through the challenges, collecting whisky along the way and creating your own personal blend. You will also be entitled to a complementary whisky cocktail before the night is through! Dreams.
