It’s the most wonderful time of the year: The Great British Bake Off is due back on our screens next week (27 August) and we are rising to the occasion.
Our national treasure, The Great British Bake Off is back in less than a week, and at Family Life HQ, we’re preparing by sampling as many tasty treats as we can before the big day.
Paul, Prue, Noel and Sandi will return to our screens to host and judge the fantastic creations made by 13 amateur bakers from across the UK.
So, what do you need to know about season 10?
As usual, the series is returning to Channel 4, at 8pm every Tuesday for the next 10 weeks, so turn on the kettle, get the biscuits out and cancel all of your Tuesday plans for the next 10 weeks.
CONTESTANTS
This year has revealed the youngest line-up ever, and we’re excited to see how they get on.

Youngest contestants are Henry, a student; and Jamie, a waiter – both 20.
From fashion designers and teachers, to veterinary surgeons and international health advisors, this year really has it all, and we can’t wait to see the skills the bakers bring to the tent.

We find it hard to believe another contestant could work their way into our hearts like Rahul did last year, but then, we say that every year, don’t we?

And as always, if you feel inspired to get crafty in your own kitchen, you can send your snaps to Extra Slice, for the recognition you deserve.
And why not bring your creations into the office to share with your hard-working colleagues. We’re sure it would be much appreciated.
