The first Christmas advert is out

Jingle all the way – this year’s very first Christmas advert has hit the screens and there’s a pretty good chance it could rival the classic John Lewis advert.

Marks & Spencer have released their festive advert and it has to be the most heart-warming offering from the superstore to date. Granted, last year’s effort with Mrs Claus can’t be forgotten but this year the advert features a special little bear that is loved across the UK.

Yes, Paddington Bear is involved in the campaign. Happily dreaming about marmalade, and just being an all-round sweetheart, Paddington unwittingly saves Christmas after finding a burglar on his roof.

Filled with the excitement and innocence of a child, Paddington thinks the burglar is Santa Claus and they go on an adventure delivering presents. It makes us feel all warm inside just thinking about it.

The advert is called Paddington and the Christmas Visitor, and it certainly hits all the spots a good festive advert should. There is no news yet on when other chains will be releasing their Christmas adverts but at the moment Paddington will help all of us get into the festive spirit, even if your heart is made from a lump of coal.
