At the theatre with King’s and Theatre Royal

This year at the King’s and Theatre Royal, they have a number of spectacular shows that are perfect for the whole family to enjoy. Here are four of our highlights:

Aladdin
Sat 1 Dec 2018 – Sun 6 Jan 2019

This year’s King’s Theatre panto is everything a family could wish for, as Elaine C Smith, Johnny Mac and Paul-James Corrigan return in Aladdin.

Follow Aladdin, his brother Wishee Washee, and of course his mother Widow Twankey, on a spectacular adventure. Expect flying carpets, a wish-granting genie, an evil sorcerer and a lamp-full of laughs.

Annie
Mon 15 – Sat 20 Apr 2019

The smash-hit production of Annie comes to Glasgow direct from the West End this April, starring EastEnder sand Loose Women’s Anita Dobson as the tyrannical Miss Hannigan.

Set during New York during the Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. She soon has a change of luck as she is chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with famous billionaire Oliver Warbuck. Meanwhile, spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search for her true family…

With its Tony award-winning book and score, including the unforgettable songs It’s The Hard Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But Youand Tomorrow, you can bet your bottom dollar that you’ll love it!

Kinky Boots
Tue 7 – Sat 18 May

With pop songs by Cyndi Lauper, Kinky Boots is the perfect feel-good musical for those aged 12 and up. Charlie Price is struggling to live up to his father’s expectations and continue the family business of Prince and Son. With the shoe factory’s future hanging in the balance, help arrives in the unlikely form of Lola – a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos.

The winner of every major Best Musical award, Kinky Boots is an uplifting story of acceptance.

Ben and Holly
Fri 24 – Sat 25 May

From the makers of Peppa Pig comes this BAFTA award-winning television animation live on stage.

Holly is a young Fairy Princess, who is still learning how to fly and her magic doesn’t always go quite according to plan. Her best friend, Ben the Elf, doesn’t have wings and he doesn’t do magic, but he runs very fast and flies on the back of Gaston the Ladybird. They live in the Little Kingdom, a tiny land where flowers and grass rise high above them and every day is an adventure.

Join Ben and Holly, and their friends on this exciting, enchanting and magical musical adventure packed full of games, songs and laughter. This beautiful story of elves, princesses and childhood innocence will delight all the family.
